Wrestling preview: Warren Hills at Hunt. Central

Series history: Hunterdon Central leads, 38-12-1, dating to 1960, including a 40-15 in the teams' last meeting on Jan. 27, 2010 in Washington. Last year's match was snowed out, the first time in series history that these rivals did not meet. Warren Hills' last wins came back-to-back in 2006 and '07. Former Central coach Russ Riegel was a four-time state finalist for the Blue Streaks when they were Washington High School. Riegel was 16-3-1 against his former coach John Goles (losing in 1966, '71 and '75 while tying in '74) and 24-7-1overall against his alma mater. Seven of the Streaks' wins have come since 1990.

Breakdown: Longtime rivalry renewed tonight at the Field House, site of many great battles over the years. Warren Hills favored at 106, 113 or 120 (wherever Nace isn't), 126 or 132 (wherever Dinmore isn't), 138, 182, 195 (slight), 220 and 285. Central has the edge at 113 or 120 (with Nace), 126 or 132 (with Dinmore), 145, 152, 160 and 170. Some potential rematches tonight from the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex Tournament: Nace pinned Adetula, Larkin beat Butka, 5-0, Witner beat Greer, 9-7, and Pacheco pinned Auricchio. Bonus points aplenty for both teams in this one. Red Devils need to minimize bonus points and reverse that 195 loss at HWS to pull this off. It's possible, but I see this as a 7-7 split and Warren Hills getting six bonus-point wins. Streaks should be fuming over that loss to P'burg.

Prediction: Warren Hills, 33-25.
