Wrestling: Newton gearing for Jack Welch Duals

Pairings and seeds were announced on Thursday for the seventh annual Jack Welch Duals to be held Friday and Saturday at Moorestown High School.

Newton (5-8) is the lone Open Mike area team competing in the 16-team field. The Braves are the No. 14 seed and will face No. 3 Haddon Township (12-3) in the opening round on Friday. Coach Eric Bollette's Newton teams have finished second twice in five previous appearances at the duals.

Camden Catholic, this year's top seed, is the four-time defending champion.

Wrestling begins on Friday at 4:30 p.m., with the second round to follow at 6:30. Action resumes at 11 a.m. on Saturday with rounds to follow at 1 and 3 p.m.
