Wrestling: Breakdown of state medals by district

Here is the number of placewinners in the 82nd New Jersey State Wrestling Championships per weight class among the 32 districts. District 7 had the most medal winners with nine, followed by Districts 8, 9 and 23 with eight. Districts 5, 6 and 18 each had seven.

In districts involving teams from the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex area, District 1 had four, while District 2 had three medal winners. Districts 3 and 17 each had two.

District 9 had a state-best five finalists and two champions (Gerard Angelo of Hanover Park and Joe Tavoso of Delbarton), while District 7 had four finalists and four champions (Nick Suriano, Shane Griffith, Joe Grello and Kevin Mulligan of Bergen Catholic).

District 23 had four finalists and one champ (Alec Donovan of Brick Memorial).
