Wrestling: Boresch Duals schedule gets slight tweak

The 13th annual Henry Boresch Duals has a new entry in West Orange as action is set to get underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Newton High School.

West Orange (3-0) assumes the No. 6 seed originally held by Northern Burlington, which was forced to withdraw from the event since it was not able to practice with the school being closed the past two days following the recent snowstorm.

As a result, four-time winner Newton (2-1) is now the No. 5 seed and will face No. 4 Caldwell in the second round. No. 3 South Plainfield, which has won four of the past six events, including titles in 2016 and '17, will take on West Orange in the opening round.

The eight-team field also includes Paulsboro (3-0) and Hanover Park (2-0), ranked No. 4 and No. 7 in the state by the New Jersey Wrestling Writers Association. South Plainfield is No. 11, while Newton checks in at No. 19.

West Orange, which is housed in District 10, features Region 3 qualifiers Edgar Moreno (8-1 at 126), Michael Charles (4-4 at 145), Sebastian Rawls (8-1 at 182) and Noah Tandy (5-2 at 195), a district champion who finished fifth in the region last season.

Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
