Field hockey: HWS sectional playoff pairings, seeds

Pairings and seeds for the upcoming NJSIAA sectional tournaments involving 17 teams from the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex area.

The tournaments begin with preliminary round games on Monday.

Warren Hills (17-2), seeking the program's sixth straight sectional title and 15th overall, drew the No. 1 seed in North 1, Group 3, while Voorhees (12-4), which captured its first sectional title since 2006 last season, is the No. 5 seed in North 2, Group 2. Hackettstown (11-4), which dropped a 3-0 decision to top-seeded Rumson-Fair Haven on Oct. 3, is the No. 3 seed in that bracket.

Newton (8-6), which seeks a fourth straight sectional title, is the No. 6 seed in North 1, Group 1. Wallkill Valley (15-2), which hasn't won a title since 2006, is the No. 2 seed, while Belvidere (11-5) is the No. 3 seed in that section. Both teams own wins over Newton this season.
