Rossi (98 career wins), Walsh and Hawk are looking to join a group of just seven wrestlers to win three or more individual championships. Hunterdon Central and Phillipsburg have not had a three-time winner. Walsh would be the fourth for Pope John -- joining JoJo Aragona (2016-19), Eddie Ventresca (2017-20) and Jake Rotunda (2016-18). Aragona and Ventresca are the only four-time champs. The Lions have had at least one winner since 2016 (no finalists in '15). ... P'burg looks to capture its third straight title for the first time since winning five in a row from 2011-15. ... The Stateliners have produced a record 33 individual champions and at least one every year since missing in 2010, followed by North Hunterdon (24), Pope John (23), Hunterdon Central (18), Kittatinny (12), Delaware Valley and Warren Hills (10), which had produced a finalist in all but one of the previous 13 tournaments (2011). No other school boasts double-digit winners. ... Newton has produced at least one finalist in 11 of the previous 13 tournaments, missing only in 2016 and '23. There was no tournament in 2021 due to the pandemic, while there were no fifth-place consolations contested under a shortened format in '22. ...
