The seeds for the NJSIAA sectional tournaments -- which will be made official on Friday -- were released on Thursday. Action begins on Monday, Feb. 9, with first-round matches between Nos. 5 vs. 4 and Nos. 3 vs. 6. The top two seeds receive first-round byes, unless there are seven teams in that section, then a No. 2 will host a No. 7, with only a No. 1 getting a bye.
Sectional semifinals will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, with the finals are slated for Friday, Feb. 13. The Group championships will be contested on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Trenton.
In all, six teams from the Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex area earned No. 1 seeds in their respective sections -- Lenape Valley (North 1, Group 2), North Hunterdon (North 2, Group 5), Phillipsburg (North 2, Group 4), Voorhees (North 2, Group 3), Hunterdon Central (Central, Group 5) and Delaware Valley (Central, Group 2).
