The 12th Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex Tournament gets underway on Saturday with nine first-round games. There was no tournament in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Prelims on Saturday at the higher seeds, with the winners advancing to the six pre-quarterfinal round contests on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the higher seeds. The quarterfinals are slated for Monday, Oct. 4 at the higher seeds with the semifinals to be played at Hunterdon Central's Stewart Field at 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Oct. 9.
The championship game will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 on the turf at Newton's Palmer Field.
Warren Hills (4-1) won its record seventh HWS title with a 2-0 victory over Voorhees on Oct. 19, 2019, at Hackettstown High School's Morrison Field. The Blue Streaks are a remarkable 35-4 all-time in tournament games.
The last two HWS champions met on Sept. 9, with Warren Hills posting a 2-0 win over Hackettstown, which claimed its only title in 2018, at Morrison Field.

Voorhees (2010 and '12), Hunterdon Central (2016) and Newton (2009), which shared the title with Warren Hills when the '09 final was never played due to scheduling conflicts, are the only other schools to win tournament championships.
