When: Saturday, 9 a.m. Wrestling will be continuous until the conclusion.
Teams: Belvidere, Delaware Valley, Hackettstown, High Point, Hopatcong, Hunterdon Central, Kittatinny, Lenape Valley, Newton, North Hunterdon, North Warren, Phillipsburg, Pope John, Sparta, Vernon, Voorhees, Wallkill Valley, Warren Hills.
Returning champions (this year's weights): Matt Benvenuto, Lenape Valley (126), Beau Vrancken, North Hunterdon (152), Jadaen Bernstein, Voorhees (160), Brandon Hull, Phillipsburg (220).
Notes: High Point returns after a one-year hiatus due to a scheduling conflict. Coach John Gardner's Wildcats won the inaugural team championship in 2010. Phillipsburg won the championship in 2011. ... Delaware Valley drew the most No. 1 seeds for this year's tournament with three (Mike Pongracz at 126, Derek Zehnbauer at 138 and Will Van Doren at 170). ... North Hunterdon has crowned the most individual champions (4) in the brief history of this event. Phillipsburg had the most individual (58) and team titles (9) in the former Hunterdon-Warren Tournament, which began in 1992 and ran consecutively for 16 years until its demise in 2007. There was no tournament during the 2008-09 season and the HWS began in 2009-10. ... Alex Shaffer of Hunterdon Central (2010) and Mike LaBell of Lenape Valley (2011) were named Outstanding Wrestler of the HWS in their respective years.
