What: John Goles Invitational Tournament (55th annual).

When: Thursday.

Where: Warren Hills Regional High School, Washington Township.

Participating teams: Bangor (Pa.); Delaware Valley; Edison; Millburn; Newton; North Hunterdon; Scotch Plains-Fanwood; South Brunswick; Warren Hills; West Morris.

Schedule: Pigtails and quarterfinals, 11 a.m.; Wrestlebacks, 1:30; Semifinals, 2:30 p.m.; Wrestlebacks, 3:45 p.m.; Consolation finals, 5:30 p.m.; Championships, 6:30 p.m.

Returning champions (this year's weight): Max Nauta, Warren Hills (113); Ryan Pomrinca, North Hunterdon (120); Mike Pongracz, Delaware Valley (126); Matt Gilmore, Delaware Valley (132); Ali Yaldiz, South Brunswick (182); Liam Korbul, North Hunterdon (182).

Previous champions (2010): Brandon Carcuffe, West Morris (145); John Sickles, West Morris (160).

Notes: Pongracz is looking to become just the 32nd wrestler to win three Goles titles. He won titles in 2010 and '11, while finishing third as a freshman in '09. He would be the sixth Del Val wrestler to win three or more -- joining the late Dan Hutchins (1998-01), Bob Brunner (1994, '96, '97), Lance Thatcher (1999-01), Kris Sigafoos (2003-05) and Dan Kelly (2003-05). ... Host Warren Hills is seeking its first team championship since 1997. The Streaks have won or shared 20 championships since the tournament's inception in 1958. ... Defending champion Delaware Valley has claimed 10 of the last 14 team titles. ... Former two-time champion Bob "Bone" Leh is expected to be among the former winners in attendance. Leh won titles in 1962 and '63 for the Blue Streaks. Warren Hills assistant coach Ben Oberly was a three-time champ for the Streaks (1983-85). Newton assistant coaches Andy Iliff (1985-86) and Ted Sibblies (1987-88) were two-timers for the Braves. Del Val assistant Gregg Wiseburn (1999-2000) and North Hunterdon assistant Chris Hrunka (2006) were also champs for the Streaks. Millburn coach Mike Artigliere was a two-time champ for Madison (1985-86).
