Notes: Klinger, one of 16 wrestlers to win at least two titles, is looking to join North Hunterdon's Ryan Pomrinca and Voorhees' Jadaen Bernstein as the only three-time champions. ... High Point's Jared Kobis (145) and North Hunterdon's Brian Smolinsky (152) -- champions in 2015 -- are not entered in this year's event. ... Phillipsburg has won a record five team championships. High Point (2010) is the only school to interrupt that run by the Stateliners, who will be without two-time champion Brandon Paetzell (hand injury) and fellow senior DJ Wissing (third at 138 last year). ... P'burg also has a record 13 champions since the tournament's inception in 2010. North Hunterdon (11), Delaware Valley and Hunterdon Central (8) and High Point (7) round out the top five. ... Senior Anthony Duardo (11-1 at 152) is eyeing school history as he looks to become North Warren's second champion and first since Kevin Brown won at 152 in 2010. ... This year's team race figures to be a barnburner. Phillipsburg is missing three starters, yet coach Dave Post's squad still rates as one of the favorites. Kittatinny, Lenape Valley, Hunterdon Central and Pope John also figure to be in contention. It could be the closest race since P'burg bested Kittatinny, Hunterdon Central and North Hunterdon in 2011, with a total of nine points separating the group.

New seeding system for 2016

Note: Pre-seeding was done according to a criteria system that weighs furthest career advancement such as HWS and postseason placements, then using total number of season wins to place wrestlers when no criteria applies. Head to head results will be introduced during Saturday morning's coaches meeting to determine final seeds and pairings. Unlike previous years, a head-to-head win does not only apply to wrestlers seeded directly above or below (ex. a six could jump a two and so on) Head-to-heads involving a round-robin will be thrown out.
