Cholish, Iliff tabbed for Region 1 Hall of Fame

Former New Jersey state wrestling champions Greg Cholish and Andy Iliff will be inducted into the Region 1 Hall of Fame prior to the championship round on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Wallkill Valley Regional High School.

The Region 1 Hall of Fame, which was established in 2006, will have 14 members with the additions of the Class of 2012.

Cholish was a star for West Morris Central in the early 1970s, winning the 123-pound state title and earning the Outstanding Wrestler Award as a senior in 1973. Cholish was a two-time region champion in 1972 and '73 and a runner-up in '71. He also won three district titles (1971-73).

Iliff won back-to-back state titles his junior and senior seasons in 1986 and '87, and is the last Newton wrestler to win a state gold medal.
