Hello, we are live at Hopatcong High School for Day 1 of the fourth annual Hunterdon-Warren-Sussex Tournament.
Preliminary round action is slated to begin at 4 p.m., with the pre-quarterfinal round to follow.
The tournament resumes on Saturday with the quarterfinals at 10 a.m. Semifinals and wrestlebacks will begin at 12:30 p.m. and third- and fifth-place matches will be contested at 3 p.m. Championship finals are scheduled for 5 p.m.
We've had several changes to the brackets involving some of the lower seeds. The one notable scratch is Kittatinny junior Nick Romyns (ill), who was the No. 3 seed at 145 pounds.
Voorhees senior Jadaen Bernstein is attempting to make HWS history as he looks to become the first three-time champion. Bernstein, who was a state finalist in 2011, won back-to-back titles at 160 the previous two years.
